Obituary of Frank McCauley
Frank "Red" McCauley, 79 of Newport, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Village House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newport. Born in Newport, RI on November 16, 1937, he was a son of the late Charles and Edith (Oakham) McCauley.
Frank is survived by his son, Frank McCauley Jr., wife Wava and their son Corey Ross McCauley all of Jacksonville FL, his step-daughter, Tracy Vannoy of Tucson, Arizona, his brothers; Charles McCauley of Portsmouth, NH, David McCauley of Portsmouth, RI, John McCauley and Paul McCauley both of Newport, RI. Frank also leaves his dear friends, Jack Murphy and Anna Jones.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Ann Marie Fulk.
Out of high school he joined the Air Force and then worked as a painter in Newport County for many years. Frank served on the Board of Commissions for Newport Housing, and was awarded the Board of Commissions Award for the State of RI in 2012. Frank "Red" McCauley was loved by all who knew him. A kind, gentle and humble man who loved his family and friends. He will be missed by all.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2017 in the O’Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring Street, Newport from 5-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at St. Mary’s Church, Spring Street, Newport at 10 am. Burial will follow in Newport Memorial Park, 123 Howland Avenue, Middletown.
