Newport - Dr. Albert G. Iandolo, CDR., USN, Ret, 77, of 17 King Street, Newport, RI, died on Palm Sunday at Newport Hospital surrounded by his Newport family. He was the husband of Jane Iandolo. Born in Brooklyn, New York on October 17, 1929, he was the son of the late Antonio and Caroline (Garone) Iandolo. Dr. Iandolo received his undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State College in Bowling Green, Ohio. After graduation from Georgetown University College of Dentistry, Dr. Iandolo served in the U.S. Naval Dental Corps, where he did post doctoral work in periodontal surgery at Bethesda Naval Hospital. While in private practice in Newport, Dr. Iandolo founded the New Visions Dental Clinic. He was a member of the Aquidneck Land Trust, the Newport Art Museum, Redwood Library, and the Preservation Society of Newport County. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Carla Iandolo, of San Antonio, TX, two sons, Christopher Iandolo of San Diego, CA, and Mathew Iandolo, of Lafayette, IN, two stepdaughters, Kathy Irving of Newport, RI, Julia Wooten of Newport News, VA., and their childern, Tamara Senter and Robyn Senter of Newport News, VA, Liz Irving of Newport, RI, Katie Irving of Boston, MA and Michael Irving of Newport, RI, two brothers, Joseph Iandolo of Dewey Beach, DE, and Angelo Iandolo of Arlington, VA and a sister Caroline Caligiuri of Olney, MD. Dr. Iandolo's funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, April 5th at 10:00 am at St. Columba's, The Berkeley Memorial Chapel, 55 Vaucluse Avenue, Middletown, RI. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, April 4th from 5 to 7 pm at the O'Neill - Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring Street, Newport, RI.
