Pauline T. Magnan, 78, of 15 Ridgewood Road in Middletown, died Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Newport Hospital. She was the wife of James W. Magnan. Born in Nashua, New Hampshire on November 26, 1928. She was a daughter of the late Francis and Marie Blanche (Gelinas) Goulet. Pauline worked at the former Woolworths Store on Thames Street in Newport and had worked at the St. Clare Home and at the Newport Hospital. A longtime parishioner of St. Lucy's Church in Middletown, member of the Middletown Senior Center, past member of the Middletown P.T.A. and involved with St. Mary's Grammar School, De La Salle Academy Mothers' Club and Rogers High School Boosters Club. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and loved by everyone that knew her. She will be missed. Besides her husband Jim, she leaves her children, Steven J. Magnan and his wife Dana of Novi, Michigan; Thomas H. Magnan and his wife Meg of Decatur, Indiana; James W. Magnan, Jr. and his wife Marybeth of Middletown, R.I.; Pauline Ford and her husband Peter of Middletown, R.I.; and William P. Magnan of Jupiter, Florida. Her grandchildren Kip Magnan, Kyle Magnan, Peter Ford, William Ford, Samuel Magnan, Hannah Magnan, Josie Weeks. Pauline was the grandmother of the late Jamie Michelle Magnan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at St. Lucy's Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown, R.I. at 9:00am. Burial at St. Columba Cemetery, Brown's Lane in Middletown, R.I. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at the O'Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring St., Newport from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
