Margaret "Peg" Bentley, 85, of 264 Harrison Avenue, Newport, RI, formally of Barefoot Bay, FL, died on February 7, 2007. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Annie (Cahir) Ryan and the "pitiful old widow" of Bob Gillerin and Walter Bentley. Peg was an LPN who worked at Kent Hospital for 3 years and South County Hospital for 22 years before retiring and moving to Florida where she worked at nursing for 7 years. She was a member of the Barefoot Bay Poetry Club and volunteered for the Sebastian Medical Center and many support groups. Peg was also a beloved friend and patron of Winn Dixie and Pool 2 of Barefoot Bay, FL. She is survived by 2 sons, Ted Gillerin of Jamestown, RI, Tim Bentley of Orlando, FL, and a daughter, Beth Reynolds of Newport, RI, 2 step-children, Bruce "Goose" Bentley of West Greenwich, RI, and Lynne Page of Cranston, RI. She was the grandmother of the late Ryan Reynolds and is also survived by 8 other grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her spirit touched all who knew her and "did she talk a lot or what"?
