Katherine M. "Kitty" Juaire, of 44 Harrison Avenue, Newport, died Wednesday, February 14, 2007, died at Newport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Adelard Juaire. She was born in Newport, RI. She was the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Mary (Conaty) McCarthy. Mrs. Juaire was a senior interviewer and placement technician for the Rhode Island Department of Employment for over 30 years before retiring in 1972. A graduate of the former St. Joseph's High School and the Newport Secretarial School, she was a parishioner of St. Augustin's Church, a life member of the Catholic Daughters of America, a member of St. Mary's and St. Joseph's seniors. Kitty was also a member of the Edward King House, and was a former member of the Green Valley Country Club. She was the sister of the late Police Lieutenant John J. McCarthy, Fireman Charles J. McCarthy, Brother Joseph (Gerontius) McCarthy, Daniel P. McCarthy, Anna Marie McCarthy, and nephew John D. McCarthy. Kitty is survived by two nieces, Renie Tharp of Minden, NV and Pat Toppa of Newport, and a nephew, Daniel McCarthy of Providence. Kitty is also survived by many grand nieces and newphews and great grand nieces and nephews and also a life long friend and first cousin, Kitty Kenney of Hazlet, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, February 17, 2007, St. Augustin's Church, Carroll Avenue, Newport, at 11:00am Burial St. Columba Cemetery, Brown's Lane, Middletown, RI.
