Obituary of Robin Mason

Robin A. Mason, 50, of 11 Wyndham Hill Road, Middletown, Rhode Island, died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at the New England Medical Center in Boston. She was the wife of Richard O. Mason. Born in Newport, on May 11, 1956, she was a daughter of Martin G. and Virginia (Edward) Belko of Middletown. Robin was a lifelong member of Trinity Church and past member of the vestry. She also taught Sunday school and was a past member of the Altar Society. Robin was a member of the Norman Bird Sanctuary and the Newport Preservation Society. As a young girl, Robin was very active and accomplished in the Newport County 4-H Club. In 1972, she was selected as to be a Newport County representative to attend the 51st National 4-H Congress in Chicago. She was a graduate of Middletown High School and the University of Rhode Island with a bachelor's degree in education, and a master's degree in accounting. She worked as an accountant at Citizen's Bank for many years and was an instructor at Salve Regina University. Besides her husband and parents, Robin is survived by her three children, Trevor, Caleigh and Colby. She was an avid gardener and interior decorator. One of her favorite pastimes was going to Second Beach to enjoy the sunset. She was an advocate for the Pennies for Patients campaign benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Calling hours will be Monday, March 26, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the O'Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring Street, Newport, Rhode Island. Robin's funeral service will take place Tuesday, March 27, at 11:00 at Trinity Church, 1 Queen Anne Square, Newport, Rhode Island. Burial will take place at Trinity Cemetery, Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
