Obituary of Ann Marie Silvia
Ann Marie Silvia, 80, of Middletown, RI entered Eternal Rest on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Newport Hospital. She grew up on Mitchell’s Lane, Middletown, RI. Ann lived on Potter Street, Newport and for the last five years at the Forest Farm Assisted Living, Middletown.
Ann was born on October 10, 1937 in Portsmouth, RI the daughter of the late Antone M. and Mary (White) Silvia. She was the sister of Dorothy Silvia Thomas (Laurence) of North Kingstown, RI. Nancy Silvia Clay of Cape Coral, FL. Antone M. Silvia, Jr (Elizabeth) of Middletown, RI. She was the loving Tia Anne of many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Dolores Silvia Lawler.
Ann worked at the former Swan Cleaners until 1979 and the Grand Islander Health Care Center as a housekeeper from 1979 until 2002.
She was the ultimate Elvis fan, enjoyed word search, puzzles and watching western movies. She volunteered at the Activity Dept. at Grand Islander and enjoyed working with the elderly both as an employee and volunteer. Ann was a loving, kind, considerate person who only saw the good in people. She will be missed by all who loved her.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 4-7pm at the O’Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring Street, Newport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Augustin Church, Carroll Avenue, Newport on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 10am. Burial will follow at St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown, RI.
