Peter was born in Newport on June 18, 1917. He leaves behind his son Peter, daughter-in-law Greer and his grandson Casey, who lives in Seattle, WA.

He returned to Newport at the age of 21 and worked as a gardener/landscaper at the Newport Naval Base until being inducted into the US Army. He served his country between 1943-1946 as an infantryman and convoy truck driver with the 41st “Rainbow” Division serving 22 months in the Asiatic Pacific Theater campaign in New Guinea and the Southern Philippines.

Upon his return he worked for 31 years at the Naval Supply Depot, Newport as a heavy-duty truck driver until his retirement.

After retiring he owned his own gardening/landscape business for many years.

In his later years he enjoyed woodworking, especially making furniture, clocks, birdhouses and watching the Red Sox play baseball.

The family would like to thank the staff of St Clare Home for the care and comfort they provided Peter during his time there.
