Obituary of Andrew Abbey
Andrew Abbey, of Newport, died at South County Nursing and Rehab Center, North Kingstown, RI, on Wednesday, August 15th, 2018. He was 56.
He is survived by his parents Sally and Lou Abbey of Newport, 2 sisters Deborah Morgenthaler (Walter), of Stamford, CT, and Lisa Abbey James of Glastonbury, CT, 4 nieces and nephews, Sarah, Matthew and Rebecca Morgenthaler, and Peter James.
Andrew was a graduate of Windsor, CT High School and attended Central CT State University and Springfield Technical College, Springfield, MA.
Cooking was his passion, as was his dedication to doing good things for others (mitzvot). He was a professional printing customer service supervisor for many years and took great pride in his work.
His funeral will take place on Friday, August 17th, at the Hoffman Memorial Chapel, 11 Fowler Avenue, Newport, at 1pm. Interment will follow at Beth Olam Cemetery, 181 Wyatt Road, Middletown.
Shiva will be at his parents’ home following the interment. Shiva will continue on Saturday night 7-9pm, and on Sunday and Monday 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
Arrangements have been made by the Chevra Kadisha Association of Newport County.
