Obituary of Ervina Sinko
Ervina Sinko, 43 of Fall River, MA passed away unexpectedly at St. Ann’s Hospital in Fall River, MA on June 1, 2019.
Ervina is survived by her mother Dusanka Cokic; her father Zvonimar Sinko; her brother Danijel and his wife Melita; her beloved aunt and many cousins, nieces & nephews of Croatia and her ex-husband Joseph Shaffell of Newport, RI.
She began working here for 7-11 Southland as a cashier and later became a manager on the Tedeschi Project and waitressed at many Newport area restaurants. Ervina was proud of her work in the healthcare field. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant, a Cardiac Certified Emergency Tech, a Medical Technician and Certified Phlebotomist. She worked at several area nursing homes and at Alert Ambulance Service. She was then selected to be a caretaker for the late U.S. Senator Claiborne Pell. Later, she began many years as a valuable member of the overnight emergency room team at Charlton Memorial Hospital before later becoming a phlebotomist at Charlton Memorial.
Ervina’s radiant smile and outgoing nature would brighten any room and bring a smile to all nearby. Her interests were many; she loved the sea and was an accomplished fisherman; she loved motorcycle and bicycle riding, four wheeling, river rafting, any activity shared with children and cooking for friends. She volunteered at St. Michael’s Church and several animal shelters. Ervina was proud to be an organ donor to help others in need.
Ervina will be returned to her beloved Croatia and her family; she will be greatly missed by those of us whose lives she touched here.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.To send flowers to the family of Ervina Sinko, please visit Tribute Store
