To the Family,
What a beautiful obituary! It describer her to a T, I have had the pleasure to know Gen for many years. In her earlier years at the Grand Islander, I have been on the receiving end of your term "spitfire", lol. She was a beautiful little lady. Gen was cute as a button, and rocked some cute little outfits. She was a "fashionista".
We have had many conversations through the years. Her love of music was apparent. I have a wonderful memory of her at the microphone singing "Oh Danny Boy" when Dave Manuel had come to entertain the residents. I had conversations with her about her nephews Buddy &Phil (Tiny), musically known around the island as "The Kane Brothers". One day Buddy came in to visit Gen on her birthday. He was wearing a bandana around his head and sang all her favorite Willie Nelson tunes. She sang along with him grinning from ear to ear.
I recently spent many personal visits with Gen. We spoke about Tiverton and places in Fall River. Most of her conversations were about her family. They were very important to her, On several occasions she would talk about Lefty. She could not say enough about him. She spoke of him so lovingly. Telling me again and again what a wonderful, caring, loving man he was. She truly loved him.
We will miss her. It is comforting to know that she and Lefty, the love of her life, are reunited again!
With sympathy, Terry Moreau
