I couldn’t have asked for a better grandmother, sleepover’s were never boring. Her basement was the best! She had a hot tub, barber chair, organ and a feature wall that made you feel like you were in the jungle, oh yes and a laundry chute we used for anything but the laundry. It was beach days and scrabble, skip-bo, and rummikub. I can thank her for knowing how to set a table and what each utensil was for. Dress up parties that turned into tea parties. Gardening and yard work, I would ALWAYS sign up to fill the truck with acorns (you got to ride in the back!) Oh ya AND she had cable before any of us! We were always doing crafts, she taught me to sew and hit a golf ball! She was also a great nurse I’ll never forget how she snapped into action when my brother hit me in the head with a golf club in her yard. There was never a shortage of action! I remember one day showing up to her house and in the garage and she had these ladies full costume doing the can can. I was always ready to help her for the preparation the parties especially Christmas every year baking cookies (I think there were 20 different kinds!!) can’t forget the karaoke machine, there was always singing and playing the piano.
Meme was a beautiful funny fun talented woman with charm that was irresistible to anyone she crossed. You will be missed.
