Obituary of Mary Larsen

Mary (Cinalli) Larsen, 96, of Middletown, wife of the late William M. Larsen, died peacefully on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at the Newport Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Newport, RI on May 8, 1911, a daughter of the late Bambina Pasquina Cinalli and Domenic Cinalli. She is the sister of the late Anthony Cinalli, Nicholas Cinalli, Paul Cinalli, Daniel Cinalli, Anne Geary, Lucille Powers, Louise Caldwell, Angela DeCotis, Kathleen Jackson, and Joseph Cinalli. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia M. Stuckey of Portsmouth, a granddaughter, Colby C. Stinton and her husband Stephen Stinton, a great grandson, Jesse N. Stuckey, a great granddaughter, Amanda R. Stuckey, and a sister, Roslyn Douglas, all of Portsmouth, RI. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. A 1927 graduate of the former St. Joseph's High School, Mary worked as a bookkeeper for Collins Market until 1938. During WWII she worked at the Torpedo Station. With a talent for sewing she took a position as a seamstress at the Newport Naval Base Tailor Shop. She later went on to work at Raytheon, retiring in 1972, when she lovingly embraced the role of grandmother. As a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker, she loved spending time with her family. She is a former member of the Middletown Senior Center and the Catholic Daughters of America. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 9:00am, at St. Lucy's Church, 909 W. Main Rd., Middletown, RI. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 5, from 4:00-7:00pm in the O'Neill-Hayes Funeral Home.
